From top to bottom, everything INCLUDING the kitchen sink. Still need backsplash, dishwasher and above the range microwave installed. But at least I have a functional kitchen again!

Kitchen Renovations
OK, OK, I'll put up some pictures already! For those who haven't seen my kitchen, or haven't been here for a while, here are the "Before" shots:
Fridge with not-very-accessible microwave up top. Just ask Barbara..
Lovely dark cabinets and outdated tile...
Pantry and storage cart to make up for storage deficiency. And Allison, we're keeping her :). So far...
Beautiful unfinished ivy stencil. I considered keeping that part (kidding!)
We discovered that probably everything in the kitchen including floor and paint was original to the house (30 years old). So it's high time we gave it a facelift.
The new kitchen is looking GREAT so far, but I don't want to put up pictures until the countertop and appliances are in. The counter was supposed to be ready yesterday, but of course it wasnt, so there is a slight delay there. Hopefully I will have a functional kitchen tonight yet, we'll see how it goes. At least I could put dishes in the uppers and stock the pantry. And the new floor looks amazing!
SO EXCITING!!!!

..a Time to Mourn...
Today our thoughts and prayers go out to the VanMiddelkoop family as they mourn the loss of their son James. Our prayers are also with Uncle Harry and the Harsevoort family, as they mourn the loss of their wife, mother and grandmother, my Aunt Tina. James was also her nephew, now they are together in heaven, free from suffering. "Comfort, yes comfort my people"says your God" (Isaiah 40)

In other news....
This is how Tim came home from school yesterday:
His teacher's sister's boyfriend (?) is a rugby player, so he came in to teach her class how to play the game. It was so rainy and muddy, she was going to cancel, but apparently this is perfect rugby weather, so....
He's lucky I let him in the van!

No news....
So, I'm probably due for a blog update, but I have nothing to blog about. Nothing exciting happening around here lately. We've all had a turn with the flu or something, Tim was the latest on Friday. So hopefully we are done with that for awhile now....
In other news, my new kitchen is being installed next week!!!! THEN I will have something to blog about, AND pictures! This week I will be busy going through my cupboards, purging stuff I don't use, and packing stuff away. Also figuring out how I will cook and what we will eat off for a few days while my kitchen is dismantled. There's always the BBQ..... and my fridge will be in the dining room, how handy will that be???
And I get to pick paint (probably a taupe or caramel color, fairly dark as I will have white cupboards and appliances) and countertop. And a new light fixture is definitely in order. So that should keep me out of trouble this week...

Ole!
Friday night was the Ladies' Auxiliary Fundraiser Chili Fiesta! It was lots of fun. I was busy in the kitchen with the rest of the Auxiliary for most of the night, but I did get a few pictures...
Setting dessert ready while the main course was being served. If we can't sit down to eat, we can at least lick the dessert pans, right ladies?
Good food with good friends!
After having the flu visit our house last week, I was a little worried that we wouldn't make it to the Fiesta. Fortunately everyone was feeling better by Friday, except Art, so he stayed home with Natalie. Probably better that way, since she really hates crowds of people. Not so fond of chili either.
