Phew...

...life slows down again somewhat! Do you ever have one of those weeks where EVERYTHING seems to happen at once? Last week was one of those around here!
First, it was Turn Off the Screens Week here in London, which means no TV, computer (except for homework) or video games. Luckily it was gorgeous weather all week, so the kids managed to go the whole week without complaining once! This was a common sight:

We did make a couple of exceptions so Tim could show his Wii to company. We had Jeff and Ian boxing on it.... quite funny!
Wednesday we had Art's cousin and his wife for dinner, since they were visiting from Carman MB. We also had another family from the church who are also related to Ian and Robin. It was fun, and nice to catch up!
Thursday B&B and family came for dinner after attending the Poultry show here in London. No fancy face painting for the kids this year, though. Too bad, we always look forward to seeing their fancy makeup. Last year they showed up looking like this:

Beth and Zachary

Joshua.
Jeremy had a shark painted around his mouth, but he had eaten most of it off by the time he got to our place. His mouth was the shark's mouth,it was really cool.

This is Bethany and Jeremy's from two years ago:

Aren't they gorgeous?

Friday night was our annual Ladies Auxiliary hosted Euchre Tournament. This year we had 15 tables, which works out to...60 people! It was a lot of fun. At the end of the evening, we have "prizes". When I held up the bicycle horn and asked who should get the prize for being the loudest, everyone yelled "Art!" I don't know why....

Saturday we threw a surprise bridal shower for my brothers fiancee, Kathryn. It was in the afternoon, we did a tea theme. Boy, was she surprised!

It was a very nice afternoon, Kathryn got lots of nice gifts! Since Barbara and I were there with only Bethany and Deanna, we thought it would be nice to go out for dinner with the girls. We dragged Sherri and Kathryn with us and took off for Swiss Chalet. Not something we girls do very often, but it was nice. Maybe we should have more dates, hey girls??

This week Art is up in Northern Ontario, which means he will be gone til Friday. Phooey! But the weather is supposed to be nice again, so the kids and I will be spending lots more time outside!

Have a good week, everyone.

So that's why we didn't get many messages or Miis from you guys last week. Have you downloaded any of the Virtual Console games yet?

And I remember reading upside-down like that! I wonder if all kids do that at some point in their life?

Yes, that is why the kids were quiet on the Wii last week! We have not yet downloaded any games - any recommendations?

It depends on what your kids like. I like the long role-playing games like Zelda, which have a mix of action and puzzle-solving. But the Mario games (pretty much any of them) are good. You can play original NES games with the remote, but for the others you might need the Classic Controller, which runs about 24.99.

Yeah, I think we might stick with the Mario for now. Tim had Sonic from Blockbuster last week, and he really liked it. Mario is quite similar, I think...
I don't need to be buying more controllers again!

Super Mario 3 for the NES is pretty much the cream of the crop. Other than that you'd need another controller.

I think you can get Sonic for the Virtual Console too, but I don't know what controller you'd need.
