Birdbrain!

Do you see that robin sitting in the hedge outside my dining room window? He thinks he belongs inside. He has been trying for a week to get into the house.

He started with the patio door, but has apparently given up on that route.
You can almost see his gears turning - why can I not get through that opening?

He tries...

...and tries....

...and tries....

He certainly is persistent.
Not very smart, but persistent.
He might have better luck if he just rang the doorbell.

There was one last summer (or spring) that kept trying to get into Aunt Grace's house. It (or another) was there this spring as well already, trying to get in through the window again.

Not the smartest animals, I guess!

Robins are territorial, I believe. It is probably attempting to scare off its reflection.

Still, I'm surprised that Deanna hasn't let it in and adopted it yet.

She tried, Piet, she tried.
And yes, they are very territorial right now. Apparently they go a little bit loco during mating season. He's also obssessed with the passenger side mirror of the van - you should see the mess he's making...

Yeah, I think he was trying to fight the rival robin he was seeing! http://harseverse.blogspot.com/2009/03/this-poor-robin-is-so-confused.html
