Sew....what?

I have resurrected an old pasttime - sewing! I haven't done any sewing of consequence (other than mending and the occasional curtain panel) for many years. I recently acquired a great Singer machine (thanks Rose and Alicia!) since my 20 yr old Finesse needed major surgery that I didn't want to pay for. Since it has been so long, I thought I would start with something simple - flannel nightgowns for the girls! They love nightgowns, and with winter coming flannel seemed appropriate. Last week I took the three girls to Len's Mill Store where they could pick out their own material for their nightgowns. I spent Monday night and most of Tuesday morning sewing the first nightgown (Deanna's). Apparently sewing is a lot like riding a bike...it all comes back to you as you do it. Here's the finished result:

Now I have to get cracking on the other two, as the twins ask every morning and when they get home from school if theirs are done yet! It was fun though...
Here's a few other random photos, just for fun:

Dressup again!

I managed to get two ponytails in her hair the other day. It looked so cute! But she sat there on the couch and would not turn her head or talk, until I took the picture. Then she asked to take them out :(
I guess she's not going to be a girlie girl like her biggest sister...

Have a wonderful day! High of 27*C today - yay!

Not a girlie-girl, and yet just below she is a fairy-princess? Maybe the ponytails were too tight?

Can I get a flannel nightgown? Are men even allowed to wear them? How about some footie-pyjamas? Put your sewing skills to the test?

I think your feet are too big for footie-pyjamas...

well, I suppose so. A little sad, that just because of the size of my feet I am unable to have cool pyjamas...it's just not fair.
