Deanna helped in the afternoon setting the table and making place cards for everyone. Amanda helped with those too. I should have taken a picture of the table, it looked so pretty, but I was a little busy.
Anyway, we had a very nice dinner, after which Chad and Erin were introduced to the Wii. I think they'll be over more often .... :).
In the afternoon, the kids painted eggs, always a fun activity... even Tim got into it still.
I had also picked up these pretty tulips the day before. Just needed a little touch of spring!
Saturday morning, we had a flock of these birds in our spruce tree out front:
(I took these pictures on high zoom through the front window...)
We did some Internet research, and deduced that they were cedar waxwings. Aren't they pretty? Apparently they are native to SW Ontario, but I don't think I've ever seen one. They eat berries, so now the kids want to plant berry bushes to attract them! Later when we went to the library, Deanna hunted down birding books, and was busy the rest of the day identifying every bird in the back yard. Mostly grackles, but also robins and a red-winged blackbird.
During the March Break, Monica came over one day with the kids to try out the Wii. Here's some pictures of Zoe and Amanda bowling. They had a hoot!
That's it for now! Have a good day...

Sounds like you had quite a busing weekend. Interesting birds, I do not remember ever seeing them here. You will have to bring the Wii the next time you come to Burlington and we will try it on the big screen.
We had Brian & Barbara and John & Kim (all nicely tanned)& Families over on Sunday for supper. Good Times.... but now back to work
Love Dad
I should do spell check first .... Busing weekend??? Should have read Bsy weekend.
Oh well...
I give up..
HA HA! Hmm...maybe that's where Tim gets his typing skills.
That's OK, I knew what you meant anyway...
It was not that busy, but very relaxing and enjoyable. There's been enough busyness around here lately.
This week Art is gone to Toronto Wed-Sat, so that will be interesting. Yuck.
We'll see you on Saturday at B&B's, I hear we're finishing a bathroom! Should be fun...
Oh lucky guys! Cedar waxwings!! Wow, could you tell them about my yard, and send them over? I'd love to see them!
Hey, were did Tim end up finding a Wii? Out here they are sold out a few hours after any store gets some stock!
Yeah, here too. They were in the Future Shop flyer, so I called both locations, and Art headed to the one that still had stock...
Smart... it's funny that they sell out so fast...most people seem to want the PS3 or XBox.
Oh well. They are fun, though. I played Sherri's brother's on the weekend. Now we want one... Hooray for tax returns!!
And thanks for the evidence. I might not destroy it though... Callum will probably get a kick out of it later when he's doing that kind of thing in Elementary school.
That's right! Save it for Callum... it'll be something to hold over your head when the kids are picking on the PK!!
Picking on him! Look how big he is now... no one's going to pick on Callum!!
Hmm...you have a point there...
